Respect and Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all clubs, officials and volunteers within the League to share this commitment.

We work in line with The FA’s safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure that football is played in a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Safeguarding Principles

  • The welfare of every child and young person is our main consideration
  • All children, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or background, have the right to be protected from harm
  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
  • All concerns must be taken seriously and responded to appropriately
  • Working in partnership with clubs, parents and organisations is essential to safeguarding children

Reporting a Concern

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child or young person, it is important that you report it as soon as possible.

  • Speak to your Club Welfare Officer
  • Contact the League Welfare Officer
  • Report directly to The FA if necessary

All concerns will be treated seriously and handled in line with FA safeguarding procedures.
